Destination Engagement Shoot: Point Mugu Beach, Camarillo California!
Congrats Josie and Parker on your Engagement!
OK I admit it. I'm a terrible blogger! And whenever I see other photographers send their facebook followers to their blog it kills me because I know I should be doing the same! I just get so busy with work and the kids and to tell you the truth, it's hard for me to let everyone in "internet land" know so many details to my shoots! BUT...alas. It is time that I set a day each week to blog about all the crazy things Ari Photography has going on. Why? 1. Because it is very good, in fact, essential, for SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and 2. Because it is impossible for me to to remember all the incredible shoots I have had in between blog posts unless I'm looking at just the week before. That is so sad to me because things are happening so fast since we have moved here to DFW Texas that really it should be documented! So as my mother in law says..I'm "putting it out to the Universe". At this very moment from now on I WILL blog every Monday no matter how crazy things are! OK moving on..
Luckily..Its easy for me to blog this time. Why? Because this gorgous girl you see below you is my adorable niece Josie Cheney! And she is engaged to the sweetest coolest guy..Parker Swenson!
This last weekend I flew to LA California to shoot their engagements on my most favorite beach, Point Mugu, along the PCH (Pacific Coast Highway). This beach is so special to me. While living there (I am from this area, Camarillo) I would visit this beach weekly. Sunday drives were essential. I tried very hard to have my wedding reception on that beach however the Parks association wouldnt allow it:( Boo!! So we settled to just having my engagements taken there. Something else special to me, because my father shot them, who has since passed.
Josie being family, and close family might I add..this place was the spot! She has always been my little Surfer "Roxy" niece with quite a bit of spunk! Funny how this shoot ended up looking very much like a Roxy/Billbong ad! This was Parkers first time to Cali and to our beach. That made it even that much more special.
Getting back to the point of this post. Aren't Jos and Parker just such an adorable couple?! I'm so excited for them. Being engaged was the time of my life!! Josie and Parker flew in from Arizona for the shoot. Which made me feel quite special honestly. But the poor kids spent most the day at the airport just trying to get up to Camarillo! They had a terrible time with the rental car situation, traffic et. Eventually they took a Roadrunner and made it just in the nick of time to meet me at Point Mugu beach before sunset. They had to get dressed in the porta potty..yuck! Hardly Josie's style! BUT they were fantastic sports through it all and man did they deliver or what? Smiles from ear to ear and not a note of complaint due to their starvation and exhaustion until after the shoot when Josie said.."Alright so can we go get some food now?":) They hadn't eaten since 7am. Poor kids!
Mom, (My Mom, Josies Grandma) treated us all to Bandits Barbque in Camarillo for Dinner. So yummy! The rest of the evening we spent in our jammies at Moms place all 4 of us together getting to know Parker more while Jos and Parker went through and picked their favorite photos from the shoot for me to work on.
Parker and Josie are flying me back to Arizona for their wedding on December 15th 2015. I cant wait to see them (and the rest of my family) again and get some more photos of this beautiful (inside and out) bride and her truly sincere fiance, my future nephew..Parker.
Congrats you two! Love you both!!
...Auntie Ari
